The majority of the recipes I use on this blog are from the women and friends of my family. The first was my great-grandmother Margaret Frink, whose blackberry cobbler is a family favorite. I continue the tradition of making her six dozen sugar cookie recipe every holiday season with her actual antique cookie cutters and rolling pin.
Her daughter, my grandmother Margaret Vance, has a few selections of her own, including a no-cocoa brownie cupcake recipe that I loved to repeat. However, my aunt Julie Edwards has taught me almost everything I know in the kitchen. She gave my mother her brownie recipe and I have been reproducing it since I was nine years-old, dozens of times a year.
I love my family and I love to bake, and I thought I could chronicle most accurately my baking adventures here. I’m a journalist who loves to bake, why wouldn’t I blog my culinary adventures?
